Plantings and Landscape Design in Halstead, Newton and Wichita, KS

Plants are what make a landscape feel finished. They soften hard edges, screen what you would rather not look at, and give a yard something different to offer in every season. Shady Waters designs and installs plantings for homes across Halstead, Newton, Wichita, and the surrounding central Kansas communities — from a single bed refresh to a whole-property plan.

Most of a planting plan is the layer that comes back every year. We install foundation shrubs, flowering perennials like catmint, salvia, and daylilies, and the ornamental grasses that keep a bed interesting through fall and winter. We will choose plants suited to Kansas conditions and to how much sun and water the spot actually gets.

A row of columnar evergreens can do what a fence cannot. We plant arborvitae and juniper screens for privacy, along with shade and ornamental trees. And if you need something larger than a nursery tree, our tree spade service can move a mature tree straight into place.

Annuals are the fastest way to change how a space feels. We plant seasonal color in beds and in containers — pots, planters, and barrels — where it will actually get noticed: near entries, along walkways, and around seating areas.

The finish work is what makes a planting look deliberate rather than accidental. We install fresh mulch, decorative rock and river rock beds, feature boulders, and clean steel edging that holds a bed line season after season.

Details carry a lot of weight. We add landscape lighting to wash beds and light the paths you use after dark, and install fountains where you want the sound of water as much as the look.

We are a local team, and our neighbors are our customers — which is why we have built a 5-star reputation on quality work and straight answers. If you are in Halstead, Newton, Wichita, or a nearby community, we would like to help.
